Hello and welcome! It’s time again for another Indie Shop. Which means nail themed nails!
So just like last year, I headed down to Anaheim to do some nail polish shopping. Because what better excuse do you need than not having to pay for shipping? And so yet again, I pulled out my Kawaii Emoji: So Nailed It stamping plate. Plus I pulled some polishes that I got from the last Indie Shop I went to.
What I Used:
- Base Coat: Cuticula – Frooty Pebbles Silk Base Coat
- 1st Color: Colors by Llarowe – Magical Mouse
- 2nd Color: Twinkled T – Lowkey
- 3rd Color: Painted Polish – Fierce in Facets
- 4th Color: Envy Lacquer – The Indie Shop is Cancelled
- Top Coat: Essie – Speed Setter Top Coat
- Maniology BM-XL325 stamping plate
- silicone stamper & scraper
- lint roller sheet
- Maniology double sided dotting tool & nail art brush
- Twinkled T clean up brush, size #2
- acetone nail polish remover
I started with my favorite smelling base coat (now I just have to get it in top coat form), and then two coats of Colors by Llarowe – Magical Mouse. I have to say, the pictures aren’t doing this polish justice. It just shines in person. Then I used a silver stamping polish to pick up the nail polish bottle designs. And I kept the designs on the stamper so I could fill it in with some colors.
My middle finger was a simple silver drip design. And all of the other nails were colored designs. And I filled these design with a dotting tool, alternating between purple and black polish. But once I was done with everything, both my mat and stamper were stained purple. Luckily it only stayed like that for a few days, but that is some strong pigment.
I finished it off with Essie Speed Setter. But looking at it all done, the colors look more like a race car theme than nail polish theme. I guess that’s what I get for letting my boyfriend decide on the colors. They’re still cute though!
Hope everyone had a wonderful week!
Update:
It was another great week for my nails! I got a few compliments at TIS, and I didn’t pick at them. Looks like the decision of which polishes to buy didn’t give me enough anxiety. And now that I’m looking back, I’d highly recommend Essie-Speed Setter Top Coat. It dries quickly, shiny, and really helps in long lasting wear. Plus the design grew on me as the week went on.
