Hello and welcome! After all the Halloween ideas I had, this week completely stumped me. But leave it to me to figure out what to do with my nails as I was doing it!
Since I had no clue what I was doing until I was doing it, there was no real inspiration for this manicure. I simple went through my polishes and found some that looked very fall-y. And then I dug through my nail art supplies to find something to use. And I landed on the falling leaves vinyls from Twinkled T.
What I Used:
- Base Coat: Cuticula – Fresh Apples Static Base Coat
- 1st Color: Fancy Gloss – Drake’s Adventures
- 2nd Color: KL Polish – Selene
- 3rd Color: KL Polish – Taurus
- 4th Color: KL Polish – Chole
- Top Coat: Glisten & Glow – Top Coat
- Maniology Mini Lotus mat
- Twinkled T Falling Leaves Vinyls
- Twinkled T clean up brush, size #2
- nail polish remover
I started with base coat per usual. Except this time I wanted to keep with the fall theme, so I used my apple scented base coat. I loved the apple scent, but I just wish it lasted even longer, like all week long. Well after that, I applied the first coat of Fancy Gloss’s brown thermal. And boy was I surprised when I realized that it was only a one coat polish. For a light color, and a thermal, to be so opaque, it’s basically a miracle.

While my nails were drying, I placed the vinyls on the silicone mat to make some homemade decals. I chose to do just a random assortment of yellow, green, and brown leaves. And I lifted the vinyls before they had time to dry, just like if they were on my nails. But some of the leaves turned out to be more like blobs, so I’m not sure if that was the right thing to do.
I used a second coat of polish as the glue to stick the leaves on to my nails. And I also tried to cover up the blob looking leaves with the better shaped ones. It may not have been my most put together idea, but at least it turned out pretty cute with minimal effort.
Hope everyone enjoyed their week!
Update:
Sadly, I didn’t really get to enjoy the transition of this thermal polish. I seemed to always be warm, so the only time I saw the dark brown base was after washing my hands in cold water. But that always faded. As for them lasting, I had some serious wear along the tips but nothing worse than that.
