Hello! We got back from our little Disney getaway on Sunday night, and I’m already ready to go back.If you couldn’t tell, I’m a big Disney fan, and it’s my “Disney hangover” that inspired this week’s mani. We bought quite a few souvenirs while we were there, and I love them all, but one in particular makes me extra happy. It’s a Baymax mug from the movie Big Hero 6! So of course, I just had to do Baymax nails.

What I used:
- Base Coat: Glisten & Glow – Base Coat
- 1st Color: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails – White On
- 2nd Color: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails – Black out
- 3rd Color: Glisten & Glow – OG Snowman
- Top Coat: Glisten & Glow – Top Coat
- nail polish remover
- Twinkled T clean up brush, size #2
- Bundle Monster Mini Lotus mat
- Bundle Monster double sided dotting tool & nail art brush
Per usual, I started with my Glisten and Glow – Base Coat. Then I added one coat of Sally Hansen – White On. Unfortunately, the polish was old, thick, and hard to work with. You can see in the pictures that I struggled making it all level and neat. I know I’ve complained about this before, but I seem to forget the second I put away the bottle. I promise to pick up a new one this weekend (or order some polish thinner).

Next, I decided to make decals. It was just to be safe, as simple as Baymax is, I just knew I wouldn’t be able to draw with my left hand. I added the top coat first, let it dry, then drew the designs with black and grey. Wen they were dry, I lifted the first decal and it immediately split in half. So, I knew I had to be much more gentle with the rest of them. After that, there weren’t any major mishaps. The designs are obviously not the exact same size or shape on both hands, but they match enough to get away with it.
When I put the top coat on, the colors really bled on my left pinky finger. Which inspired me to spot correct my pinky and a few other spots. But that probably wasn’t my best idea, since it just ended up highlighting where I screwed up. I might have to try more clean up/correcting later this week; we’ll just see how I’m feeling.
So this definitely wasn’t my best work, it is a bit sloppy. But I was working so much later than usual, (since it took me ages to get the glitter off from last week) that I’m giving myself a bit of a pass. I still think they’re cute though!
I hope you read the title in the same Baymax-y voice that I did. Have a great week!
Update:
This past week, my nails were just chip central. They started to chip pretty much the day after I did them. And then I didn’t make it any better when, on Tuesday, I decided to file down my nails to be more square. Please excuse the weird transition shape, I have to slowly shorten my nails or else it feels horrible.
Aw so cute! I love Big Hero 6
