Zombie Kill of the Week

Hello and welcome!  This week I’m bringing some gore to my Halloween manis, but don’t worry, I think they’re more cute than gruesome.

My inspiration for this week comes from a few things coming together for some perfect timing.  First, I was searching through my untried polishes, and I still hadn’t used a polish I bought from Polish Pickup back in September 2018.  Second, I hadn’t really used my first Mani x Me box from October 2018.  And third, the second Zombieland movie came to theaters.  So, of course, it became the perfect time for a zombie design.

What I Used:

  • Base Coat:  Cuticula – Frooty Pebbles Silk Base Coat
  • 1st Color:  Painted Polish – Zombie Kill of the Week
  • 2nd Color:  Maniology – Merlot
  • Top Coat:  Glisten & Glow – Top Coat
  • Maniology M008 stamping plate
  • Twinkled T holo stamper & scraper
  • lint roller sheet
  • Twinkled T clean up brush, size #2
  • acetone nail polish remover

I started with some fun smelling base coat.  Just because my nail art is based on the undead, doesn’t mean my nails need to smell like it lol.  Then I applied two coats of Painted Polish – Zombie Kill of the Week.  Can you guess the inspiration for the polish?  That’s right… Zombieland.  And next, to keep from having to clean up red from around my cuticles, I added liquid latex all around my nails.

Then it was just an easy stamping job.  Since zombies and brains actually freak me out (I’m a big wuss), the hardest part was deciding on what exactly to stamp. I went with the zombie cat design, the brains & body parts ice creams, and bats all around.

This turned out to be a little less zombie, and a little more vampire bat, but the creepy cute vibe is still there.  Plus, the bats helped tone it down to make it more acceptable at work.

Hope everyone enjoyed their week!

Update:

Ugh, it’s the same old story.  I picked, and I picked, and I picked at my nail polish until I could get to my natural nails.  At least it kind of works with the theme.  Like something destroyed my nails.  And on a side note, we went to see Zombieland 2, and I loved it!
