B-day Favorites

Hello and welcome!  It’s my birthday week!  Which means, I get to do whatever my heart desires! 🙂

Since this week was all about me, I decided to pull out some of my favorite polishes.  But I also didn’t want to do too much work.  So I kept to a simple design that represented everything perfectly.  Birthday cake not only shows off the occasion, but I’m pretty much addicted to sweets, and balloons are just so festive and fun, they always cheer me up.

What I Used:

  • Base Coat:  Glisten & Glow – Base Coat
  • 1st Color:  Cirque Colors – Clink!
  • 2nd Color:  Maniology – Starfish
  • 3rd Color:  Maniology – Snowdrift
  • Top Coat:  Glisten & Glow – Top Coat
  • Maniology BM-XL30 stamping plate
  • silicone stamper & scraper
  • lint roller sheet
  • Twinkled T clean up brush, size #2
  • acetone nail polish remover

I started with my trustee base coat, and then two coats of my all time favorite nail polish:  Cirque Colors – Clink!.  I hate that this was a limited exclusive with Live Love Polish, because I want to be able to buy more.  Unfortunately, I’m stuck with using it only on special occasions now.  Then I tried stamping the cake/cupcake and balloon images in a beautiful purple holo, but it just didn’t pop against the bright blue.  So I switched to stamping the images in a soft, pretty gold.

This mani didn’t work out perfectly, since I really wanted that purple polish, but it still turned out beautifully.  And just going with the flow helped me to have a stress free week, which is what I truly wanted for my b-day.  I’ll just have to use that purple another day!

Hope everyone enjoyed their week!

Update:

No chipping, and no picking!?  If that’s not a sign that I had a great week, I don’t know what is.  Over the weekend, my best friend made a delicious brunch at her place for me.  And the rest of the week was a do-nothing kind of week.  No cleaning, no studying, not even socializing.  I went to work, and came home, and just relaxed.  And you can tell that my nails loved every second of it too!
